Wow, blogging, tweeting, and photoboothing. . .sounds more like something from another planet, doesn't it? Everyone seems to be doing well getting comfortable with the computer and using it in class. Don't forget that I am always in class early if you have any questions or concerns about an assignment, your computer, or something you found on the Internet.
This week: I hope you have scanned your self-portrait (or had someone draw a portrait of you). I will show you how to put the picture on your blog. We will also use the picture in the creation of your classroom newsletter, which we will begin in class tonight. I also hope to get you introduced to TaskStream (and show you how to self-enroll in the two required programs) and the ISTE NETS for both students and teachers.
Jornal 2: "Grounded Tech Integration," by Harris & Hoffer. This is in the September/October 09 issue of L&L. I realize that this may be a bit too much for students who are far away from becoming teachers, but an introduction to an idea of how to best integrate technology into the curriculum is a great way to get you to see that simply having a computer or being a proficient user doesn't equate to student success.
This Week's Question: Who has been your favorite teacher (at any grade level) and why?
My favorite teacher was Miss Scott. She was my freshman English teacher and I loved going to her class. She made learning fun and she was always happy to see you in class. I learned a lot from her and she helped me to develop a love of reading.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite instructor and mentor is Dr. Lorna Zemke, OSF, who inspired me to pursue a graduate program in music education for the love of learning, and to complete a rigorous graduate program that included researching and writing a master's thesis, and presenting an oral defense of my thesis. I will be forever indebted to her for the faith she had in me and for the strength she gave me to carry on to complete my program.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher would have to be My 12th grade oceanography teacher Ms. Weisman. She was a fairly new teacher when I had her senior year so her teaching methods surely helped each of us remember about 95% of the courses content. Well, I think the fact that our class was only 6 students big also had somthing to do with it, but out of any class I had, I'd say that in Ms. Weisman's class, I learned the most. To this day, I still remember the different levels of the atmosphere and that the summer solistice falls on June 21st of every year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was named Aurelia. She taught third grade back in Mexico. She was very strict and dedicated to her students when i left her class to come to the U.S. I was very advance in Mathematics.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher growing up was my 5th grade teacher Mr. Durazo. He was my first guy teacher and was also the first teacher I ever had at a public school. He made class fun with a bunch of games and activities. He really got me to love math and I have loved the subject ever since :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was Ted Anderson at PLNU. Being a small school we got to know each other well. He made me feel like part of his family, which helped me stay motivated in school.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher is Dr. Eliza Bigham. She is amazing and has inspired me to do so many great things. I learned so much from her that I will be able to apply in my career. This question was very hard because there have been so many influential teachers throughout my life but I would have to say that she is my favorite right now.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher is Mrs. Golden. She was my Spanish teacher for all 4 years in high school. She inspired me to become a Spanish teacher. I still remember her enthusiastic teaching methods.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite teacher was Mr Garland. He taught Math whilst I was doing my A-Levels at College (I was between 16 & 18). He was a really cool guy and he was more of a friend than anything else. He was always there if I needed him, and he always made learning fun, by using all different things in the class. He also helped me when I returned to the school to do a work placement as part of my course back home. We still talk after I left college and he helps me with anything that I get stuck with.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher would have to be my sixth grade teacher who was also my 7th grade basketball coach. He was the most understanding, down to earth person. He was always willing to help and try to create a more personal relationship with each one of his students.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was my music 343 class at SDSU. She made class so much fun. SHe taught us how to incorporate each lesson plan with music.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher would have to be my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Stone. She was very energetic and always made class fun. She has a passion for teaching and for her students that is very rare to find.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher is Dr. Moineau, I have taken multiple classes from her and I loved each of them. She has inspired me in multiple ways and she truly a fantastic teacher.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was Mr. Mull in 6th grade at Tierra Del Sol Middle School in Lakeside. He taught english, social studies and drama. He was fun and made everyone laugh, which was great, but he also made everyone feel like they were smart and capable of contributing something in class and i'd never had a teacher like that. Looking back I realize what an annoying kid I was but he just treated me like an adult and like everything I said and did was important and interesting and worth while. He was so cool for that : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was a middle school teacher I had named Miss Fritz. She was awesome!! So enthusiastic and passionate for her job. She taught with a lot of energy and her class was so much fun! She taught English and History and taught us to memorize things like the names of countries through songs and patterns. To this day I can still recite all of the country names in Africa in order of the way they lye on a map! haha...she was a very effective teacher.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was Mr. Rico. He was my fifth grade teacher. He taught two grade levels at the same time the sixth graders and the fifth graders back in Logan Elementary School. Although he had so many students at the same time, he was always willing to help without showing his overwhelmingness. . He also gave shoes to some of the students. He was very understanding and patient to everyone. No doubt he was the best ever. Always willing help.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher has to be from my senior year of high school, Mr. Whitehead. He was more than a teacher, he was an inspiration to each person in the class. He was able to connect the lessons and books to the daily life a a 17 year old so we could understand it. :)
