Week Five: I've Fallen, and I can't Tweet Up!

So there I was feeling young after mountain biking to the top of a hill in Mission Trails Regional Park early Sunday morning. . .and there I was again, just trying to put my pants on Monday morning when I fell over like a tipped cow and tweaked my back. . .After I waddle into class, I will do my best to remain upright this evening ;-(

Anyway, tonight I will not only show you how to convert your newsletters to PDF (if you haven't already), but we will be uploading the newsletter to your blog using a web 2.0 tool called Scribd. I will also show you how to embed your Delicious.com tags into the margin of your blog. I have released the Emerging Technology assignment on Web CT, but notice that it isn't actually due until the last day of class. We will also go over PowerPoint tonight, which requires that we familiarize ourselves with the NETS for students and the NETS student profiles
NOTE: Weren't you all supposed to do your Intro to TaskSteam? I only had 4 submissions????

Journal 4 & 5: Now that you are familiar with L&L on the ISTE website, I would like you to search previous issues to find an article that both relates to something we have covered or will cover in class, and something you will find interesting. Don't forget to use the Citation Machine to cite your article in the journal post. And Jamie would like to remind everyone to construct two original questions/answers for each entry. Remember: journal 5 is not required, it can be completed as extra credit.

This week's question:
What is your favorite sport to play or do. . .and by sport, I mean anything that you participate in that keeps you active. Mine is for sure snowboarding!!

  1. My favorite sport is cross-country skiing. I'm not very good at it, but I love being outside enjoying the winter landscapes. One beautiful spot I've gone cross-country skiing is near Cable, Wisconsin. The freshly fallen snow was like diamond chips, sparkling in the early evening dusky light - a magical time and one I'll never forget.

  2. Indoor rock climbing!!! It's so much fun and such a good work out. It will make you hurt for days afterwords but it is super fun especially if you go with a good friend and you can make fun of eachother : ) You are also attached to a little harness so there is virtually no risk involved, which is totally my kind of sport!

  4. I love backpacking! I really enjoy walking miles a day with a pack. At the end of each day I feel like I have really accomplished something and I feel good about myself. Since I can't backpack on a regular basis I enjoy daily walks. :)

  5. I love Shopping and going out with my friends!
Ok, so I know that it isn't a sport, it keeps me active and it is a great way to hang out with my friends and just talk. It doesn't mean that I buy loads of clothes (I am a student after all!!) And when ever I go out I like to either walk there, or walk around and spend more time with people! (And since I dont have a car it is a lot easier!) I think I just like being outside and enjoying other peoples company, so as long as I am with someone I don't really have a favourite thing to do!

  6. Totally... my favorite sport is VOLLEYBALL!!! I'm not a contact sport kind of person and volleyball seems possess a certain intensity when you play. It's a total team sport and without communication you team will fail. >< it's probably the only sport I'll never get tired of.

  7. Baseball...I played it(helped me get through school), coached it (helped me get both of my teaching positions, and named my kids with it. Their middle names are Rawlings (baseball manufactor), Brett (after my favorite player as a kid) and Mantle (after my dad's favorite player)

  11. Oh gosh...I played soccer for 12 years until an injury took out both my ankle and knee during my last season. I go on hikes, chase/run around with my niece, and working in a retail store where I run around like a chicken with their head cut off (True story!!! Try moving an entire store around in two hours, climbing up and down ladders, and lifting heavy boxes too!!)

  16. There are a lot of sports that I love but few that I practice. I use to play soccer, do gymnastics, and karate; it was fun and good. At the moment the only sport that I practice every once in a while is swimming, and sometimes hiking.
